NOVEMBER
November is generally a month where most people take the time out to give thanks.. Thanksgiving is not the only holiday where we should take the time out and be thankful... Generally speaking.. we should be giving thanks all the time...
As the holiday season approaches, we should all really think about our lives.. how lucky we are to be here and have the people we have in our lives. There are many military families out there whose loved ones will not be home to share in the holidays.. Who will have one seat missing at the dinner table.. There are many families who have had a missing seat for awhile now.. It is equally important to give thanks for families who are enduring these sacrifices because their loved ones are defending our freedom.
Here is the scene.. you're standing in the grocery store and in walks a man dressed in his uniform.. All too many times, we see him, take notice and never really say anything... My challenge to all who are reading is to take an opportunity to give thanks... I challenge you to walk up to this man or woman and extend your hand and say Thanks! This will most likely make his or her day!
With Veterans day approaching, we should all take time to go out of our way and say thank you to these men and women who work long hours and risk their lives so you can be have your freedom..
Keep in mind that freedom does not come free... I think about what my brother in law missed when my sister had their first son.. He was deployed to Iraq and missed the first ten months of Caden's life.. I am thankful for people like my brother in law every day.. We miss him when he is gone and worry like crazy! Imagine going through this every day.. Imagine what my sister goes through.... It is not easy and they do it for the love of the job and country.. I challenge you to make November not only about giving thanks for the things you have.. but for the people you have in this world, who are out on the front line, so you can be at home with your family...
So my question is... what are you going to do to Give Thanks this Veteran's Day? I have made a few donations to some of my favorite charities-
